Betting in the UK

Betting&it's become a national pastime! What's your pleasure? Football, polo, golf, rugby, poker, blackjack, Roulette, Bingo? Live casinos, online gaming, the National Lottery? It's all there for the taking. And in the UK, even with the faltering economy, it is growing.

Betting has long been an accepted in much of Europe through the centuries, and the UK has led the way. When the internet made online betting more accessible, online casinos became a nature fit for Brits. And so goes online sports betting, even to our more sacred Royal Ascot.

Where being seen at the races in enormous hats and the latest fashion was always en vogue for women, now placing an online bet on a football game is equally acceptable. Having a go at the Roulette table on holiday is fine and entering the poker tourney at the local pub not taboo.

Online betting numbers are higher than ever and increasing daily. More women are gambling online than ever before. Today there are sites, gaming rooms, chat rooms and tournaments that accommodate women only, and the trend is on the rise. Why? Because no longer is gambling seen as a group of men in a back smoke-filled room. It is more socially acceptable.

For both women and men, convenience is key. And with the convenience comes additional information. This is, after all, the information age. Not only can one place one's bets on the internet sites, but one can also ascertain statistics, bloodlines of the animals participating in any given event, and on and on. One can learn about a card game and play the game all in the same session. That's convenience.

Betting is also a social network, allowing every class of British citizen to mingle together, either in person at the track or online and enjoy a mutual interest without pretence. Everyone can be who they are, enjoy a pint and play their best game while interacting with others or not at will.

Be it at the stadium, racetrack, casino, pub, on your computer or right on your mobile, place your bet and get ready for a thrill!
