Euromillions in Denmark: More People Joining in the Fun

You can play Euromillions in Denmark today just like in many other countries of the European Union. The game has come a long way after being started in the 3 countries of UK, France and Spain. This is quite a departure from the national lotteries of most countries where only the residents of the country are allowed to play. But after the Euro was standardized as the single currency in the European Union, playing this game has become possible in all the countries which have registered in it after 2004. It seems strange that although the Euromillions was conceptualized in 1994, it took another 10 years for the formalities to be over and the game to be a worldwide success.

Modest Beginning

Although you can now play Euromillions in Denmark, the beginning of the game was quite modest and involved only 3 countries. The organizations in charge of the game were Camelot in the United Kingdom, Francais des Jeux in France and the Loterias y Apeustas Del Estado in Spain. Players in all the three countries waited with bated breath for the results to be announced for the first draw on 13th Feb, 2004. Later on, many more countries joined the bandwagon. You can play for a jackpot of 15 million Euros in the first draw. But if there is no clear winner, the amount is carried over to the next draw. This increases the jackpot considerably when there is no winner in subsequent weeks. The maximum amount was as much as 180 million Euros in one draw.

How to Play

The system of playing Euromillions in Denmark is the same as in all other participating countries. You have to choose any 5 numbers between 1 and 50. In addition, you have to select 2 numbers between 1 and 9 which are your lucky stars. In order to get the jackpot money, all the 7 numbers have to match with those drawn in the lottery on that day. Besides the jackpot, you can win money in 12 levels. Your prize money will increase with the numbers you match in the draw. Although the odds are very high, since you are one among the many people from throughout the European Union participating in the draw, you may still win if luck favors you.

The Jackpot

Playing Euromillions in Denmark can be fun if you can win the jackpot. And if no one wins the pot, it will not be forfeited but carried over to the next draw. This process continues until one of the ticket holders wins the prize. But if there is no winner within a stipulated time, then the jackpot amount will be given to the one with all 5 main numbers matching along with 1 of the lucky stars. This is a super draw as the money is given to somebody other than the one with a matching combination of 7 numbers. Once this super draw is over, the jackpot amount is again set at 15 million Euros and the process starts once again. A portion of the money collected in every draw is given for charity purposes. So you can also do some good by playing Euromillions in Denmark.
