Live Roulette Has Simple Rules
The first thing that a live roulette player should be aware of is that roulette is not a competitive game. The players do not compete against each other. Each game of live roulette can have eight players, who play against the dealer. This helps players in developing a winning strategy to crush the house and return home with pockets full. Bets are placed using chips which represent the players money, these are usually exchanged at a counter or from the dealer. Each player is handed chips of varied colors to avoid confusion. On winning the chips are converted to cash.
Bets are placed in the beginning of the game. Players should place the bets before the dealer or croupier declares ‘No more bets’. Players should not even touch the chips after this declaration. Once this declaration is made by the dealer, players are not allowed to alter their bets.
The game of live roulette has being played from the 18th century. The word roulette means wheel. The game was popularized in Europe and America in the 19th century. Although the European and American versions vary slightly different, they follow the same rules. The live roulette game in a casino consists of a wheel with numbered pockets of two different colors, namely red and black. European Roulette consists of numbers 0 to 37 while American Roulette has an additional 00 (double zero). The croupier spins the wheel on one direction and the metal ball on the opposite direction around the top rim of the wheel. The essence of the game of live roulette is to guess the number on which the ball will finally settle. The player, who makes the correct guesswork, wins the round.
The bets of European and American roulette are the same but the odds vary. Players have more odds for winning in European roulette as it contains one number less. American Roulette has a special kind of bet called the five-liners bet, beside the usual Inside and Outside bets. Five-liners bet are placed on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Some casinos have added rules like En Prison and La Partage. According to En Prison rule, players can take or leave the bet if the number 0 appears. For La Partage, players with even-money bets lose half the bet amount when the number 0 appears. If you use an online website for live roulette they might not always have these special bets however the basic rules remain the same for the game no matter where you are.
