Online Poker The Real Deal

Online poker, since its launch in the late 1990s has developed into a tour de force. Switching online has seen the number of players worldwide increase beyond all expectation as people that were put off by the intimidating culture surrounding the ”traditional” game now feel safe and secure in an online environment.

Online poker revenues were estimated to be $82.7 million at the start of 2001. By 2005 they had grown to a huge $2.4 billion and after a slight dip during the recession, profits are on the up again and companies such as PartyGaming and Sportingbet reported strong quarters at the end of 2009.

As greater numbers of people want to join in the fun, better programmes are being created to bypass current anti-collusion software and many claim the ”real” essence of the game is being lost. So what does the future hold for online gaming?

One site however is leading the way is giving the online poker game a healthy dose of reality. Real Deal Poker is launching a new system aimed at making the online poker game more like the traditional casino, home or land-based tournament. Founder Gene Gioia claims that Real Deal Poker enables you to ”play poker online” and not just play ”online poker”.

So what is the difference exactly? Is this simply a smart marketing ploy or is this the real deal? At the moment, all other online poker sites are using random number generators (RNGs) to deal their cards. Designed to produce a sequence of cards without a pattern, these systems often fail to create a realistic game.

Real Deal Poker, in comparison, will use its own systems, Cut ”N” Shuffle and Game Check to make the game feel more realistic by implementing a cut function and burn cards. The system will work by dealing real cards which are scrambled and shuffled. The results are then digitized and relayed onto its online poker table games.

The result? A fairer and therefore more enjoyable game that is truly tactical. The idea behind the game site is in its name, Real Deal Poker. It promises to offer a unique collaboration between real cards, real players and real poker that currently isn”t offered anywhere else online.

There will always be cries of cheating as players accuse both other ”players” of being ”bots” i.e. software disguised as a human player, as well as the operators of giving good hands to multiple players to increase the bets and rakes. But hopefully if this system from Real Deal Poker makes the game more realistic and life-like, then the true strength of a player”s ability will shine through.

Cythia Constine is a professional player who play poker online since 2002. He recently found a real deal poker website that provide a game virtually identical to those played at live tables in casinos.
