Poker Variations Across the Globe

Many card games have evolved over time. While the original game is usually still played by many, other variations have occurred and grown in popularity over time. poker is a popular card game played either at home or at a casino, whether it is at a traditional brick and mortar casino or an online casino. Many variations of the game exist.

One of the popular poker variations is known to seven card stud. In this game two cards are dealt face down then one card is dealt face up to each player. Dealing continues with three more cards dealt face up in another card dealt face down. This gives each player a total of seven cards. Following the deal, betting begins and in order to win the game the player with the best five cards wins.

Another version similar to seven card stud is known as baseball. In this poker variation players first are dealt two cards face down. Then former cards are dealt each player that these cards have their bases shown. The seventh and final card is dealt face down. In this variation certain cards have different values that are played in different ways. In baseball, all threes and nines are wild cards which allow players to select the card they wanted to be. When a player is dealt four cards face up they are then dealt an extra card face down which improves their odds of a winning hand. There are other variations of baseball poker. For example there are winter baseball and blind baseball. In blind baseball all seven cards are dealt face-down

Black Mariah is another variation of seven card stud poker. Also dubbed Chicago, these two terms described the hand that has been dealt the highest spade with its face-down. The winning player in this game has to accomplish two tasks. Of course they must have the best hand of the table that they must also have the highest spade that was dealt face-down. If these two tasks have been achieved by two different players, then there is no winner and the game starts over.
